Poetry Workshop at Seven Sisters Festival: A Celebration of Creativity and Connection

Terrica Strudwick, Fianna McDonald, and Stephanie Rowe hosted two inspiring poetry workshops at the Seven Sisters Festival. During these sessions, participants were guided on a journey of self-expression, connection to creativity, and exploration of emotional seasons.

The idea for the workshops emerged when Terrica Strudwick, Fianna McDonald and Stephanie Rowe, envisioned a space to celebrate and share knowledge through poetry. After our successful application to present at the festival, the three women collaborated over seven months to design an immersive experience. The workshop included a deep dive into connecting with creativity, understanding the seasons of emotions, and a powerful meditation led by Fianna McDonald, helping participants connect with their creative womb.

Participants were invited to write a sentence or two reflecting on their connection to the seasons of emotions. The result was a collection of profound and beautiful sentence of a poem, split across the two days of the workshop, that showcased the power of collective creativity and vulnerability.

We are deeply grateful to all those who participated, as well as those who gathered to celebrate, heal, and support one another throughout the festival. The poetry workshops were a transformative experience of collaboration, where each participant embraced the rhythms of nature and the cycles of life.

These poems reflect the powerful reminder that we are not separate from nature; we are part of it. By drawing wisdom and inspiration from the Earth, we can live in harmony with her seasons. The flow of life teaches us resilience, grace, and how to move through challenges just as the seasons shift.

The workshops were more than a creative endeavor – they were a celebration of the interconnectedness of all life. Through art, creativity, and collaboration, we can find balance within ourselves and with the world around us.
